On the slopes, control your speed ⚡
One of the essential principles of safe riding is to adapt your speed to your level of ability, snow conditions, visibility and traffic on the piste. Slow down especially in areas frequented by beginners, near ski lifts and at the bottom of pistes.
Watch out for other skiers ⚠️
Respect for others is essential. Don’t get in the way of skiers below you, as they can’t always see you coming. You are responsible for your trajectory and your speed, and it is your duty to anticipate any obstacles.
The downstream skier always has priority.
Respect the disabled: the move can be more complicated with handiskiing, so make sure you don’t get in the way.
At a standstill, position yourself on the edge of the slopes 🏔️
When you take a break, don’t stop in narrow passages or behind bumps. Make sure you stay visible and don’t get in the way of other skiers.
Listen to the advice of professionals 💪🏼
The ski patrols and ski lift staff are there to inform and advise you on the best practices to follow. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to ask about the state of the pistes or the weather conditions. The signs on the slopes are there for your safety, so respect them scrupulously.
In case of emergency, the first-aid number is on the piste map ➡️ +33 (0)4 50 79 72 22 (Les Gets)
Knowing what to do in the event of an accident is crucial. Don’t waste any time and contact the professionals immediately.

Get ready before the holidays 😎
Good preparation before your stay in the mountains is the key to a trouble-free holiday.
1. Arrive in shape: Physical preparation, including walking, jogging or going to the gym, will help you to be in top form and to enjoy your activities with complete peace of mind. 🏃♀️
2. Get informed: Check the local weather forecast and study the piste map every day. Find out when the pistes and ski lifts open and close. If in doubt, ask the first-aid attendants or instructors. 🌤️
3. Stay hydrated and nourished: Altitude and physical exertion increase your calorie requirements. Drink regularly and eat snacks to maintain your energy throughout the day. 💦
4. Warm up: Mountain activities put a lot of strain on your body. A proper warm-up is essential to prevent injury and get the most out of your days on the slopes. 🕺
5. Maintain your equipment: Check the settings of your bindings, especially to limit the risk of sprains in the event of a fall. Don’t forget to remove the snow between your boots and skis before setting off. 🎿
6. Protect your eyes and skin: Wear category 4 goggles to avoid eye damage from UV rays reflected by the snow. Also apply sun cream to protect your skin from burns. ☀️
7. Check your insurance: Before you leave, make sure you’re properly insured. Mountain rescue can be expensive, and it’s important to know if you’re covered. 📄
By applying these simple tips, you can make the most of your mountain holidays while ensuring your safety and that of others. Remain vigilant, courteous and respectful, and enjoy the mountain experience with complete peace of mind.
