Les Gets, host of a Tour de France stage for the first time in 2023

Between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Les Gets will host a stage start for the 2023 Tour de France for the first time in its history. “All in the saddle” on Sunday July 16th, to follow the 15th stage that will take the peloton to Saint Gervais Mont Blanc.

After having hosted the Critérium du Dauphiné three times, it is with great impatience and enthusiasm that the resort approaches the preparation of this mythical event in order to reserve a grandiose welcome to the great names of cycling and the enthusiasts of La Grande Boucle!

LES GETS, LAND OF CYCLING

DH, enduro, road or electric bikes… Les Gets has been a pioneering destination for cycling since 1992! It is now one of the world’s leading mountain biking destinations, offering an exceptional Bikepark with 128 km of marked trails, including those for e-bikes, and facilities for all levels. On the sporting front, the resort has made a strong comeback on the world MTB circuit, as the organizer of World Cups and the 2022 UCI World Championships, which will remain etched in everyone’s memory…

As far as cycling is concerned, Les Gets and more widely the department of Haute-Savoie are full of legendary circuits and passes. It is a great playground for all road bike lovers who can follow in the footsteps of the Tour de France, whether it is the mythical Col de Joux Plane or the passes of La Ramaz, Joux Verte, l’Encrenaz or facing the Mont-Chéry (Critérium du Dauphiné 2016) and its slopes of over 15%. As the first pass of the “Route des Grandes Alpes”, the resort is an ideal base camp to discover fabulous circuits used by the greatest champions.

To complete the two-wheeled offer, the resort naturally adheres to the national “Accueil Vélo” brand, whose label has once again been confirmed. The village of Les Gets has also been awarded the “Terre de Jeux 2024” label and has been selected as a CPJ – Centre de Préparation aux Jeux de Paris 2024 – for cross-country mountain biking.
