This year, one of the stages of the MTB World Cup will be taking place in the Portes du Soleil area from 7 to 17 September in the resorts of Les Gets, Morzine and Châtel. Léandre Alegri, a qualified course setter, is in charge of designing the downhill (DHI) track in Les Gets specially for the event. A few of the best riders in the discipline have come to test the 2023 World Cup track before heading to the World Championships in Fort William. Here are their impressions and feedback regarding the various changes made since the 2022 World Championships, which was held on the same track.
Benoit Coulanges
”The changes are excellent, the track will perhaps be just a little slower, but it is more technical – I can’t wait for this World Cup which is going to be amazing! “
Baptiste Pierron
”Some great new and brilliantly reworked sections that are going to improve the flow and make it more technical! All of these natural sections are going to evolve – it’s going to be awesome to ride here! “
Antoine Pierron
”It was already one of my favourite tracks, every year the changes really do reflect improvements, Les Gets is always as cool for the riders as it is for the public! “
