Ski Gathering: social ski holiday for solo!

Do you love winter sports but your friends aren’t available? Is your partner not a fan of skiing? Are you travelling alone and looking for a convivial experience? The ‘Ski Gathering’ concept could well be the ideal solution for your next holiday in the mountains. 🏔️

An innovative formula from the UK

Imported from the UK, the Ski Gathering is the approach to ski holidays for solo travellers. This concept, which could be translated as ‘getting together to ski’, is directly inspired by the British catered chalet. It’s a way of taking full advantage of the joys of the mountains while sharing convivial moments with others.

In Les Gets, Raphaël Cabuis, a native of the village and ex-chef in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ireland, has introduced this formula in collaboration with The Ski Gathering, under its Montagne & Tradition brand.

His aim? To create a humanly enriching experience where solo travellers can recharge their batteries both on and off the slopes.

A perfect balance between conviviality and freedom

What’s particularly appealing about the Ski Gathering concept is its flexibility. Participants enjoy the company of the other residents whenever they wish, while preserving welcome moments of freedom. There’s no obligation: everyone can make up their own holiday as they wish, in a relaxed, pressure-free atmosphere.

Exceptional accommodation

The chalets perfectly illustrate the balance between modernity and traditional Alpine charm. Sleeping up to 25 people, these spacious chalets offer a host of communal areas: bar, reading lounge, dedicated dining room, indoor pool, sauna, and even, for some, outdoor Jacuzzi. ✨

The layout has been designed to encourage interaction while preserving everyone’s privacy. Travellers can choose from a range of accommodation options: single, double or triple rooms to be shared with people of the same sex, so they can tailor their stay to suit their budget.

A fully experience

To meet everyone’s expectations, themed weeks are organised throughout the season: holidays for beginners, for the under-35s, for the over-50s, etc. This segmentation enables travellers to select the holiday that best suits their profile and their desires.

A personalised welcome and flawless organisation

Stays generally start on a Sunday and last for a week, encouraging group cohesion.

Each day is punctuated by convivial moments: afternoon tea after skiing, the evening aperitif where the next day’s programme is presented, carefully prepared dinners… All in a relaxed atmosphere, often punctuated by a very British sense of humour!

The team takes care of all the logistics: meals, advice on equipment hire, recommendations on the best itineraries for each level of skier. All that’s left for holidaymakers to do is enjoy their stay to the full, without worrying about the logistics. 🎿

The Ski Gathering: much more than just skiing

While skiing remains at the heart of the experience, the Ski Gathering is about much more than just hitting the slopes. It’s a true immersion in the art of mountain living, a rejuvenating interlude where the encounters are as enriching as the spectacular scenery. 🏔️

So, are you ready to try your hand at adventure? The Montagne & Tradition and Ski Gathering teams are waiting to welcome you for a unique experience that could well transform your vision of ski holidays! ⛷️
