A protected natural area
Les Gets has long been aware of the importance of sustainable development and is continually working to improve its ecological footprint. Many local initiatives have been introduced with this goal in mind.
Our approach is in line with the territorial policy of the Communauté de Communes du Haut Chablais (CCHC) and its environmental actions.
With its philosophy and positioning as an eco-tourism destination, the village is dedicated to preserving its mountain environment. To this end, multiple actions have been instigated in both the village and the ski area: low-emission transport, wood-fired heating for 12 municipal buildings, the distribution of pocket ashtrays, electric mountain and road bikes available in the summer, new generation snow guns with lower energy consumption, events organised with limited environmental impact, etc.

Les Gets has been awarded the UNESCO Chablais Geopark label thanks to the presence of peat bogs in the area, which play a very important role in our ecosystem.

Several actions have been launched in Les Gets to promote eco-friendly mobility. Like the GetsLib’, self-service electric bikes to move easily in and around the resort.
An eco-golf
18 holes for 18 exceptional panoramas facing the Mont-Blanc, Les Gets golf course is above all an environmental pioneer thanks to its many eco-responsible initiatives.
Protection of the Black Grouse
The ski area and municipality in Les Gets are jointly committed to protecting the Black Grouse, one of the Alps iconic bird species.
